Most of that time has been spent building web applications on top of Java and Jakarta EE. That deep interest in the platform eventually led to working on Java application servers and cloud runtimes professionally — contributing to MicroProfile and Jakarta EE specifications and ultimately to making a Java cloud runtime a reality, which meant operating Jakarta EE applications on Kubernetes at scale.

This blog reflects the problems that come up in that kind of work: Java middleware, Kubernetes operations, and frontend development that does not require mountains of JavaScript.

The name "Zero Magic" reflects the underlying philosophy: understanding the inner workings of the tools is what separates developers who can only use things from those who can fix them.
